To simulate an open-plan kitchen in IFC Builder, users must draw the division between the two spaces with a virtual partition ("Walls and partitions > Virtual partition"). These elements allow the two spaces to be separated for design purposes without the need to enter a physical partition such as a partition wall. In addition to the virtual partition, the two spaces ("Spaces > New") on either side of the virtual partition must be entered and their type must be indicated.
