In CYPECAD, the fire resistance of the structural elements of a building can be defined in order to be able to carry out the fire resistance check as well as the cold-formed design of the structure. Users can also add and design fire protection for the structural elements.
To carry out an analysis of the structure against fire, select the "General data" option from the "Project" menu and tick the "Check fire resistance" box. The entered data will be applied to all the structural elements in the group. Check the "Floors with compartmentation" option, to consider that the floor slab prevents the spread of fire between floors.
It is also possible to set a specific fire resistance to be applied only to certain zones of the floor group by accessing "Beam Definition", "Groups" > "Fire resistance", and choosing a "New zone" with a specific fire resistance.
