How to move user settings from one computer to another

Follow the steps below:

  1. Install one of the program versions on the second computer so that the required directory structure is created.
  2. Then copy the following directory from the first computer:
    • For Windows XP:
      C:\Documents and Settings\USER\ProgramData\CYPE Ingenieros\v20xx\
    • For Windows Vista, Windows 7, Windows 8, Windows 8.1, Windows 10 and Windows 11:
      C:\Users\USER\AppData\Roaming\CYPE Ingenieros\v20xx\
    • Where “USER” is the name of the user account logged into the computer and “v20xx” is the installed version of the CYPE programs (e.g. “v2021”).

* Note: By default, the ProgramData folder (in Windows XP) and the AppData folder (in Windows Vista, Windows 7, Windows 8, Windows 8.1, Windows 10 and Windows 11) are hidden files, so they may not be visible. To disable the restriction and view these folders follow the steps below:

    2. Click on the TOOLS group in the top bar and then click on FOLDER OPTIONS.
    3. Click on the VIEW tab and tick the “Show hidden files and folders” option.
  • For Windows Vista, Windows 7, Windows 8, Windows 8.1, Windows 10 and Windows 11:
    1. Access the C:\Users\USER folder.
    2. Click on the ORGANIZE group in the top bar and then click on FOLDER AND SEARCH OPTIONS.
    3. Click on the VIEW tab and tick the option “Show hidden files and folders“.
