CYPE 3D may display the following error:

One of the elements of the continuous beam forms an angle greater than 80 with the horizontal plane.

The problem can be found in the “Analysis” menu, selecting “Show/Hide incidents”:

The problem is caused by an element that is defined as a “Beam” but whose directrix is close to the vertical line (the angle with the horizontal plane is greater than 80 degrees). This is usually due to a definition error.

To solve it, the geometry of the bar can be checked or its description can be modified from the “Bar” menu, in “Describe”. If it is a vertical element, it should be characterised as a “Column” or a “Generic” element should be used as the general case:
