It has not been possible to establish a connection with the server controlling access to be able to work with the Campus Version

Versions 2023.e and earlier

In these versions, the Campus Version works using port 995. This is the secure email port. This port is used because it is available on all Eduroam networks and the Campus Version must operate on university networks.

Certain antivirus software and firewalls block the connection to our server when they detect a non-email server program is using this port. The program displays the following message:

It has not been possible to establish a connection with the server controlling access to be able to work with the Campus Version. It may be the server is momentarily out of service. Please try again later and if the problem persists, check you have a permanent internet connection and that the 995 port of the router or FireWall is open

The solution is often to disable the antivirus software’s email scanning in order to prevent it from scanning the communications port 995, allowing the program to run correctly. For more information on how to disable email scanning, you can contact the technical support service of your antivirus protection program.

If disabling email scanning solves the problem, it should remain disabled while using CYPE programs. It can be enabled again after they have been used.

Email scanning may be permanently disabled when accessing emails via a web browser.

In case the problem is caused by the Windows firewall, you can create rules in the firewall in order to allow the connection to our server.

If the problem persists and you cannot access any CYPE programs, run the ‘checklic.exe‘ file located in the C:\CYPE Ingenieros\Version 202*\programs folder. This program generates a report of the Internet connection status of the system. You can send this report to the CYPE technical support email address in order to detect the source of the failure.

Versions 2023.f and later

In these versions, the Campus Version works directly via your Internet connection, just like any Internet browser, using HTTPS (port 443).
