To install and use the CYPE Open BIM – Revit Plugin, users must have all the necessary permissions to read, save and type in different folders during the installation and running processes of the program. If you are unable to install or work with the plug-in, the following procedure can be used to reinstall it from scratch with all the permissions:
1. Completely disable any antivirus and other protection software (firewall, anti-malware software) that may interfere with the installation process or running of the program, by deleting or preventing the necessary files from being generated.
2. Rename the user configuration folders associated with the plug-in. These are as follows:
C:\Users\”Windows user”\AppData\Roaming\CYPE Ingenieros
3. Close Revit completely.
4. Redownload it from BIMserver.center and reinstall the Open BIM add-on for Revit and the BIMserver.center Sync synchroniser as an administrator. To do this, right-click on the executable file after downloading and select “Run as administrator”.
Also, as a general recommendation, the software should be installed and the project’s content should be saved on the computer’s local drive. Failures may sometimes occur if different computers are used or attempts are made to change the default paths.
