Description

This 10-hour implementation program introduces the CYPE software ecosystem integrated with the BIMserver.center platform. It is designed for professionals and organizations beginning their adoption of CYPE tools or aiming to establish a structured Open BIM workflow across multiple disciplines. Through practical sessions and guided exercises, participants will implement the core processes supported by CYPE applications—architectural baseline definition (including IFC-based integration), structural design, building services (MEP), cost estimation, and BIM coordination—acquiring the essential knowledge required to deliver interoperable BIM projects efficiently, collaboratively, and consistently.

General objectives

  • Understand the structure of the CYPE ecosystem and its integrated project workflow.
  • Set up and manage a collaborative project environment using BIMserver.center.
  • Develop and integrate architectural, structural, and building systems models within a coordinated workflow.
  • Deliver a structured and interoperable digital project, including quantities and coordination outputs.

Target group

  • Architecture, engineering and construction professionals.
  • Students in their final years of technical studies who are interested in learning about this tool that is so widespread in firms and technical offices.
  • Companies, organisations and groups wishing to attend these courses from their offices.

Lesson plan

Session 1 (2h) — Platform Implementation & BIM Project Deployment

Objective: Establish the collaboration environment, project structure, and external model integration

  • Overview of the CYPE ecosystem and implementation approach
  • BIMserver.center as the Common Data Environment (CDE)
  • Creating and organizing a BIM project
  • Team roles, permissions, and discipline setup
  • Uploading IFC files and managing external reference models
  • Connecting workflows from Revit through IFC export and BIMserver.center integration
  • Open BIM interoperability and publishing workflow

Deliverable: BIM project environment ready for multidisciplinary use, including IFC integration

Session 2 (2h) — Architectural Baseline Implementation

Objective: Define the architectural reference model for all disciplines

  • Architectural modeling workflow in CYPE Architecture
  • Typologies, libraries, spaces, and documentation outputs
  • Publishing the architectural baseline for coordination

Deliverable: Architectural model available as the project reference

Session 3 (2h) — Structural Workflow Implementation

Objective: Deploy structural design integrated with BIM

  • Importing the architectural baseline into CYPECAD
  • Code selection, materials, and structural system definition
  • Load setup and analysis workflow
  • Reinforcement generation and main deliverables
  • Publishing the structural model to the federated project
  • Expansion possibilities of the workflow through additional tools for structural steel design.

Deliverable: Structural model calculated and integrated

Session 4 (2h) — MEP Implementation Workflow (Core Disciplines)

Objective: Introduce essential building services integration

  • Fire protection setup and sprinkler network workflow (CYPEFIRE)
  • HVAC system definition and reporting (CYPEHVAC)
  • Plumbing supply and drainage overview (CYPEPLUMBING)
  • Electrical devices, circuits, and calculation workflow (CYPELEC)

Deliverable: MEP disciplines connected within the BIM model

Session 5 (2h) — Coordination, Quantities, Cost, and BIM Delivery

Objective: Finalize implementation with outputs and coordination processes

Deliverable: Coordinated BIM model with quantities, cost outputs, and issue workflow
